The 1s clinched a 40-run win in a gripping contest against Old Elizabethans to leapfrog the visitors into third place.
It was a victory carved out by another fine bowling performance from captain Kobie Richmond and a crucial innings and bowling from Charlie Randall. For the second week running Kobie had a five-wicket haul taking 6 for 26.
Batting first Dave Roberts 31 and Liam Carter 25 built a decent foundation in a stand of 48 before both fell to miscued shots triggering a collapse.
They recovered somewhat but at 117 for 8 were in deep trouble when Randall with a fine 41 and help from the last two Alex Richmond 20 not and Gareth Jones 15 lifted them to a handy 176 all out.
Where Elizabethans had relied largely on accurate slow bowling The Park turned to all-out pace and Kobie Richmond and Jones soon had the visitors struggling at 27 for 4.
Then, Gomes 24 and Mahmood 58 looked to be guiding them towards victory in a stand of 80 making light of the slow bowling.
All changed with a return to aggressive pace as Randall 2 for 21 removed both batsmen, and Kobie Richmond took out three more as they slid to 121 for 9, five wickets falling for only 14.
Louis Champion with a fine caught and bowled snarled the last wicket to complete a very good win as they were dismissed for 136.
