Al's sixer clinches another win

Al's sixer clinches another win

Chris Johnson

Firsts win again

Alex Richmond's 6 for 24 spun the 1s to an emphatic win by 77 runs over neighbours Stevenage.
In harness with a hostile spell of pace bowling from Charlie Randall 2 for 29 they reduced the visitors from 86 for 2 to 127 all out. The score was boosted by a massive 39 wides.
Archie Stephens with 2 for 19 had removed both openers after stubborn resistance by them.
Earlier on a superb batting wicket that had pace and bounce with no great turn for spinners The Park raced to 72 for the first wicket in only 11 overs with sumptuous strokes by Louis Champion 54 and Liam Carter 18.
There was no hint of what was to follow as the innings disintegrated to 204 all out against slow bowling that was steady and accurate but without offering any real threat.
And after the openers had departed it was only Stephens with 38 making any significant contribution. Scott Davies was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 31.
The win places the 1s joint top of the table in Saracens Herts League Division 2a along with Holtwhites Trinibis and St Margaretsbury.

Saich's brilliant ton fires up the 2s

Saicharal Nandyala struck a brilliant 136 that set up a 136-run win for the 2s away to Eaton Bray.
At 86 for 5 there was no hint of what was to follow as he took charge in powering them to 256 for 9, twelve 4s and nine 6s.
In response the home side only made 120 with Jo Hibbins 2 for 18, Jack Randall 3 for 38 adding to the handy 21 he scored and Nandyala bagging 2 for 2 to complete a fine day, taking the team into second place in Saracens Herts League Division 6a.

Thirds take vital points in defeat
The 3s picked up a healthy 18 points as they went down by runs on the artificial wicket away to Cheshunt Rosedale 3rds, scoring 215 in reply to 277 for 8.

John leads 4s to another win
The 4s made it three wins out of four with a 25-run win over Welwyn Garden City 5s.
John Inman's unbeaten 45 with valuable support from Eve Hibbins and Skye Burnell helped steer them to 150 all out with a useful 25 earlier from Richard Hollis.
Inman's 4 for 25 led the way in bowling out the visitors for 120 with Eve and under 13 Freddie Hollis two apiece and one apiece for brothers Josh and Alfie Luxford.
