Under clouds that couldn't decide if they were crying or just sweating, our 2nd team journeyed to face off against the 4th-ranked Flitwick. The mission? Win and clamber up the promotion ladder—or let the rain gods do their dance for the same result. And lo and behold, the skies opened up! Voilà, promotion achieved for the second year running. Bravo, team!

Hollis Leads the Way as Knebworth Fall to Holtwhites
Knebworth Park 4th XI somehow survived the rain, losing by eight wickets to Holtwhites-Trinibis on Saturday. Despite the scoreboard looking gloomy like the weather, Richard Hollis was the shining knight in cricket armor, smashing an impressive 59 to top-score for the team.

After Holtwhites decided to field, Knebworth cobbled together 121/9 from their 32 overs. Hollis was the glue holding it all together, scoring while wickets fell like autumn leaves. Kajanan Rajasingam chipped in with 16, Luke Mably added 14, and Jonathan Cirkel made it to 11. John Inman stayed unbeaten with a lucky 7 as Knebworth limped to 121

The 4th XI will now take these glimmers of hope and aim to turn them into a fireworks display in their next match!

Carter Blasts 63 as Knebworth Fall Just Short
Roving Reporters stepped up to the crease first, racking up a solid 230/7 from their 40 overs. But fear not, Knebworth's bowlers weren't going down without a fight, keeping the middle overs in a tight grip! Robert Burnell was the superhero for The Park, with a dazzling display of 3/25 from his eight overs, rocking an economy rate of just 3.13.

Knebworth's reply took off like a rocket, thanks to Liam Carter's power-packed performance. Carter unleashed an explosive 63 from just 35 balls, sending the ball over the boundary six times and finding the ropes five times, boasting a jaw-dropping strike rate of 180! After Carter's thrilling exit, Thomas Matthews kept the momentum going with a well-crafted 49 from 57 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. Fraser Fung chipped in with a handy 30, while Maximillian Heath added a sprightly 22. However, Knebworth wrapped up at 205/8 from their 40 overs, falling 25 runs short of the target.
